I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
